Chegg.com is an online company that sells and rents textbooks. When you rent textbooks from Chegg, can you can save yourself money versus buying the books. They also offer a selection of eTextbooks, which can be rented to save you time and money. When renting with Chegg.com, there are some rules and guidelines you should know to get the greatest ease and satisfaction out of your experience.Chegg Textbooks

General Rules and Policies:

1. Wear, Tear, and Loss: Normal wear and tear is expected on rentals. Highlighting in moderation is allowed, however, writing in textbooks is not permitted due to the fact the multiple students will use the textbooks over time. If wear exceeds normal use, such as ripped, stained or missing pages, or the textbook is lost, you will be held responsible for the purchase price of the book after being contacted by customer service. Chegg.com will charge you the purchase price of the book, excluding any rental fees you have already paid but you can always save with Chegg special offers.  You will also have the chance to have any damaged book returned to you at your own expense within 45 days.

2. Extensions and Late Returns: All textbooks/materials have a return due date. If you need to keep your textbook passed the due date you can log on to your account or contact customer service to extend the due date for additional rental fees. Likewise, if a book is returned late, you will be charged extension fees until the book is returned or the the purchase price is paid, whichever comes first.

3. Satisfaction Guarantee: If for any reason you are unsatisfied with a rental, or if you just no longer need a rented textbook, you have 21 days from the rental purchase date to return the book. The return must be postmarked by UPS by that 21st day to receive a refund. Shipping labels can be printed my logging on to your account, however the cost of shipping will be deducted from your refund.

Digital books must be returned within 14 days to receive a refund. Each digital book can only be returned once for a refund.

If you are dissatisfied with the quality of your rental, Chegg.com will reissue the book with no additional shipping charges.

New books must be returned in new condition to receive a refund.
If you do not receive your book by the date stated on your order confirmation, Chegg will refund your shipping costs and send out a new book, if necessary.

4. Additional Materials: Some textbooks have accompanying digital material, study guides, or workbooks. Chegg does not guarantee that you will receive those materials with your rental. If they do arrive with your rental, they may be used and must be returned with the textbook. If they are not included, but needed, they may be purchased separately.
